I graduated from high school with a Bilingual IB DIPLOMA (38 points with 6 in biology HL and chemistry HL) Currently, I am studying medicine at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Experience

I love tutoring; I did it when I was in high school as part of a volunteering project. Noticing the progress students achieved, made me feel very content. Usually it’s just a matter of adopting an effective study method and approach to problem solving. Knowing that I can be helpful in this respect makes me feel confident and enthusiastic in tutoring. I am an open minded, hardworking and determined individual. My past work experience consisted in assisting dental surgeons; this contributed to the development of good communication skills, which surely come in handy when tutoring. Additionally, I speak English, Spanish and Italian, so I can help with languages as well. I passed from a program completely thought in Italian to a program thought only in English, therefore I learned some techniques to quickly adapt to changes and write effectively in one language or the other. I am more than happy to share these tips and strategies with my students.

Hobbies

My academic life in high school was balanced with other social service projects and sporting activities that build on my organizational skills. For instance, I used to dance and do athletics. Currently, I do only athletics as a sport. I am also an active individual, determined to make a difference, that’s why I love volunteering . My experience as a volunteer in the Oncology department of a pediatric hospital in Havana brought me closer to this goal. When I first began the service project, my creativity was really put to the test in finding fun activities for the sick children, but with the help of clowns, magicians and presents I was rewarded with smiles and trust. The intimacy, trust and affection are unforgettable; a kiss or hug can be miraculously therapeutic and I believe we as humans must cultivate these forms of affection. At that time, I organized two fund-raising events, accumulating sufficient funds to bring them something each week. Now I am in the charity committee of Erasmus University, therefore I am organizing other fun events for charity, including a Butler auction to help refugees.
